A three-day Item Writing Workshop, organised by the St. Christopher and Nevis Nurses and Midwives Council in collaboration with the Nursing Education Department of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), has just concluded in St. Kitts. The purpose was to gather experienced nurses from across the nursing disciplines, and provide them with further training in item writing in order to contribute to the establishment of a regional test item bank for the Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR).
The workshop was described as timely as many changes in the functioning of Regional Nursing Councils and the management of the Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR) is taking place. It is envisaged that the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) will be administering the RENR come October, 2013.
